INTRODUCTION

SmiteWorks and Carl Pinder, formerly from abletop Connect, are committed to providing the best customer service possible. We are excited to have Carl working with us on the future of Fantasy Grounds and we are greatly looking forward to providing the best possible virtual tabletop experience possible to all backers. The aim is to blend the best features from Fantasy Grounds with the best features from Tabletop Connect.

Here are some common questions we expect that you might have and our answers for those. If you don’t find the question or answer you are looking for, please consider contacting us [email protected] and we would be happy to assist you.

Will I still have access to Tabletop Connect ?

Yes. We will leave the latest build of TTC up and available for people to use. If you backed the project, you still have access to this and will continue to have access even if you choose Fantasy Grounds options with your credits.

Will there be any updates to Tabletop Connect?

No. TTC will not undergo any additional development. All of these assets and the code have been transferred to SmiteWorks for inclusion in some form within a future version of Fantasy Grounds which will run on Unity. Carl is already beginning that work.

If I choose to pick up a license for Fantasy Grounds today, will I automatically get the future version that releases on Unity?

Sort of. Since we have not fully decided what the pricing will be, there may be a small upgrade fee at that time ($5 minimum is what we are thinking) for each license. We have never charged an upgrade fee before now, but this is a massive overhaul. There will likely be several suggested upgrade fees and then the consumer will have some ability to choose which one best applies to their experience.

How do I get the add-ons for Fantasy Grounds?

Once you have chosen your add-ons and supplied the Fantasy Grounds forum username you want those linked to, then I will add all of your choices to your account and send out instructions. Inside of Fantasy Grounds, you should click on Settings and then make sure that it has your license key and your forum username entered. Click the small Update button next to your username and supply your password. Once the items have been added to your account, you will receive a notification from us and then you will run a Check for Updates from Fantasy Grounds to have them automatically installed. Most add-ons will show up as a new ruleset or extension, or as modules for an existing ruleset. In the latter case, open the ruleset used for that add-on and then go to Library > Modules to activate it.

What happens to the 3D assets I pledged for?

Since these assets may be changed in the new version of Fantasy Grounds, and they are not currently available in the current version of Fantasy Grounds, we chose to simply give you a full credit for those pledges and add-ons instead of trying to map them to existing assets or add-ons. The long term plan is to provide 3D assets within Fantasy Grounds, so you can hold onto your credit if you prefer, as opposed to spending them on items which are available today.

When do I have to make the choice on how to spend my credits?

We are leaving that up to you. As far as we know, there is no limit on the amount of time a backerkit project can remain open. If you don’t see anything you like for your credits yet, you can hang onto them. Your choice.

Can I just get a refund?

Yes, you can. We really hope that you’ll remain with us for this upcoming journey and choose to back us instead of requesting a refund, but all refund requests will be handled directly by SmiteWorks, including a refund in full, if so desired. Please email [email protected] and include your backerkit email and the amount you want refunded from your credit, along with your Paypal email address. We will issue you funds through Paypal and then clear the backerkit credit amount.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
